Buckling Analysis of Layered Composite Plate with Integrated Piezoelectric Layers

Laminated composite plates are extensively used in many industrial structures because of their lower weight compared to metal. In this paper, modeling of four layered composite plate has been done by MATLAB to find material properties of layered composite plate for different volume fraction. These material properties obtained from this model have been used for buckling analysis of layered plate integrated with one layer of piezoelectric. This work has been further extended to calculate buckling load of layered composite plate integrated with two layers of piezoelectric. Due to integration of piezoelectric layer in layered plate buckling load changes. This model can be further used for active vibration reduction. Here, piezoelectric layers can be used as actuator and sensor for active vibration reduction. Keyword - Buckling, laminated composites, PZT
