Paper Title
Comparative Study of Heat Transfer Fluid1-Phenylnaphthalene and Dowtherm-A for a Solar Absorber Tube of a Concentrated Parabolic Trough Collector

Abstract
The solar energy is renewable source of energy which is available for free in tremendous amount. Solar parabolic trough collector system harnesses the energy from sun in the form of thermal energy. In this paper a numerical analysis of two thermic fluid 1-phenylnaphthalene and Dowtherm-A which passes through solar absorber tube at 10 LPH, 20 LPH and 40 LPH to find better option for heat transfer media. The numerical simulation was done for both the fluids for different flow rate and simulated for the 9 AM to 4 PM. The comparative analysis shows that 1-phenylnaphthalene absorbs more amount of heat than Dowtherm-A. There is about 4 to 5 oC difference in outlet temperature of both the fluids. The instantaneous efficiency of system with 1-phenylnaphthalene was found to be about 3 to 4 % more than that of Dowtherm-A. Therefore 1- phenylnaphthalene is good option as heat transfer fluid for concentrated parabolic trough collectors.
