Paper Title
Design, Analysis and Size Optimization of the Ladder Frame Chassis

Abstract
Abstract - The current paper focuses on the design, analysis, and size optimization of the Eicher E2 11.10 ladder frame chassis. CATIA V5 software is used to model the Eicher E2 11.10 ladder frame chassis with conventional and rectangular box sections. Linear static analysis is performed on both models, and the one with the least displacement and Von misses stress is chosen for size optimization using Hyper Mesh's OptiStruct solver. The thickness of the chassis main rails and cross rails is reduced as a result of size optimization. To generate the optimum rail thickness while meeting the design constraints, an iterative procedure is used. The optimized chassis is subjected to linear static analysis for comparison with the conventional chassis model, followed by a model analysis. The mass of the chassis before and after optimization is also compared and the results are discussed. Keywords - Ladder Frame Chassis, Linear Static Analysis, Size Optimization
