Implementation of Piezo Electric Transducer to Improve the Capacity of Hydro Electric Power Plants

Abstract
Energy is the currency of the universe and it is the most important thing that favoured the development of the society. We mainly depend on conventional resources such as coal, petrol etc. for the electric energy extraction. But the amount of the resources is depleting exponentially and use of these resources collapse the stability of our ecosystem, so we can’t rely any more on these resources. The next way is to utilise the non – conventional resources such as solar, wind etc. But construction of these needs a large initial investment and to tackle all these problems we can try to produce more energy by efficiently utilising the existing power plants. We can see that most of the largest power plants are hydroelectric power plants, so here we are using piezoelectric transducer to improve the efficiency of the hydroelectric power plants. In developed countries piezoelectric transducers are used in foot paths for powering street light. Here, we are implementing the piezoelectric transducers inside each blades in such a way that it can experience the impulse from the water jet. so we embedded the piezo electric transducer sandwiched between two metal plates together forming a blade. With each hit we can produce energy from both the turbine and piezoelectric transducer. The important thing to know is that the trans ducer become more efficient with decrease in thickness and we can install more number of transducer within the blade.
