Abstract
Diplomatic affairs are an important factor to enhance the position of each country in contributing to the
international community. The Republic of Indonesia, which has instituted diplomatic affairs with South Korea since 1973,
was preceded by consular relations since 1966. This diplomatic affairs is based on a common vision and mission between the
two countries, to contribute to the international community as the same middle power country. This diplomatic relationship
is not just a cooperation agreement on paper, but also the real execution of public policies whose impacts shall be felt
directly by the people of Indonesia and South Korea. Even though Indonesia has succeeded and has always been upright in
implementing the principle of independent and active foreign policy, in fact diplomatic affairs with South Korea has not
fully reached the goals of diplomatic affairs itself, in which to improve the welfare of society, including grassroots groups,
especially concerning the goods export of the Indonesian Micro, Small Medium Enterprise (MSMEs).
