Paper Title
Raman Analysis of CVD Graphene Growth on Cast Iron Piston Ring
Abstract
This study was performed to investigate the feasibility to synthesise graphene on cast iron piston ring using
renewable resources via chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method. The selected renewable resources were oil palm fiber
(OPF) and polystyrene (PS). The pyrolysis rate of OPF and PS were studied using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The
coated piston ring was observed under Raman spectroscopy. The results revealed that OPF had a higher pyrolysis rate than PS,
resulting in a high-quality and homogeneous graphene oxide coating.
