Abstract : Applying forging to produce automobile parts is a common technology, which can reduce material and time costs
and increase product strength. Therefore, the forging process and die design of aluminum alloys have become very important
in the production of bicycle parts. Due to the complexity of the forging process and die design, finite element analysis is used
to help prevent forging defects during the forming process. This paper studies the forging of bicycle aluminum alloy pedals, the
parting line, draft angle, forging tolerance, die fillet radius and flash are considered in the design of forging die. The finite
element analysis of metal forming is used to simulate the forging process of bicycle pedals of aluminum alloy. Then the
obtained forging load, stress distribution, temperature distribution, folding and underfilling determine the appropriate forging
machine, die design and process parameters. Finally, a forging die is made to forge aluminum alloy bicycle pedals with good
dimensional accuracy and high quality.
