Beam Optimization with Probability Constraint Modeled by 2D Finite Element Method
Abstract
In this paper, reliability-constrained optimal beam design problem is formulated. The corresponding
mathematical model involves PDE-type constraints, which are modelled by finite element method. The constraints
concerning reliability are reformulated using penalty approach and a traditional scenario-based approach. The results are
obtained by computations in the MATLAB software.
