Maritime Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVS) A Comprehensive Review on Development, Missions and Challenges

Abstract
Abstract - The paper describes an inclusive review on the expanding technologies on current and future USVs which emerge widely in the marine sector as well as their important roles in civilian and military applications, missions and functions. The study explains the development of USVs from the previous concept design until the current design and their function and suitability. Every USV has its own advantages and disadvantages regarding its limitation of service area based on why it made up for and its tasks under different conditions. As a result of the analyses performed during development of USVs, the high priority USVs missions are identified and challenges for future work are shown for future considerations. This is a qualitative study that aims to link the navy needs and considerations with the capabilities that USVs can provide. Keywords - ASC, UMS; USV.
