Paper Title
Numerical Analysis Of Tube Fin Heat Exchanger Using Nanofluids

Abstract
Nano fluids are potential heat transfer fluids with higher thermal conductivity and better thermo physical properties and can be applied in heat exchanger for better performances. The work is about working of nano fluids, their performance comparison with base fluid consisting of mixture of Water-80% & EG (Ethylene Glycol)-20%. A theoretical analysis is presented to investigate the variation in thermo physical properties of base fluid when nano particles are added. In the present work, the nano particles like SiO2, TiO2, Al2O3 and Cu are mixed with base fluid and used in tube fin heat exchanger. Its effects on thermo physical properties and heat transfer characteristics are compared with base fluid. This study focuses on the application of Water-EG based nano fluids in an automotive cooling system. Input data, nano particles properties and empirical correlations are obtained from literatures to investigate the heat transfer enhancement of an auto motive car radiator operating with nano fluids based coolant. Different correlations are used to find out thermal conductivity, specific heat and density of nano fluids. To carry out the analysis, program is generated in C-language. It is observed that, overall heat transfer coefficient and heat transfer rate in engine cooling system increases with the use of nano fluids based coolants compared to Water-EG mixture alone which implies that the size of the radiator can be reduced for the same performance.
