Enhancing ICT Skills in Government Offices: A Case Study of Chandigarh Administration
Abstract
The rapid evolution of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has transformed global government
operations. In this digital era, characterized by data-driven decision-making, proficient ICT skills among government
employees are imperative. This paper delves into the impact of enhancing ICT skills in Chandigarh Administration, focusing
on productivity, service quality, and governance implications. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach involving surveys,
interviews, and performance data analysis, we evaluate the outcomes of ICT skill development programs across various
regions. Our study gauges the extent to which enhanced ICT skills improve efficiency, effectiveness in administrative tasks,
decision-making, and service delivery. Additionally, we explore challenges encountered during skill enhancement initiatives
and suggest mitigation strategies. Our findings indicate a positive link between improved ICT skills and increased
productivity among government employees. Proficiency in data management, communication, and collaboration enhances
operational efficiency and response time. In conclusion, this paper underscores the significance of nurturing ICT skills
among Chandigarh Administration's government employees and furnishes empirical evidence of the manifold benefits.
