Paper Title
Scheduling of Rescue Operations with Over Looking with in Short Response Time: An Approach for Quick Response to Urgent Relief Demand
Abstract
The problem of scheduling search-and-rescue activities in the uncertain environments arises in many disaster
situations, e.g., searching for and rescuing lost people during incidents in high-rise buildings, searching forsurvivors in the
open sea after shipwreck, emergency evacuation after earthquakes, etc. The problem is to efficiently search for and save as
many people as possible, within short response time,i.e., before a pre-determined response timeelapses. We suggest a
mathematical model for the search-and-rescue process in the uncertain environment and provide a new fast algorithm for the
combined scheduling of searching and rescuingactivities under uncertain detection results.
