Abstract : Abstract -
A new approach is established using short term mechanical testing to predict long term creep life is made. Mockman-grant strain based model selected to define the new model. TraditionalPower Law equations, modern creep equations also used for comparative study. Open Source NRIM creep data ofaustenitic stainless steel plate, high chromium steel plate and low alloy steel tube used in this evaluation. Linear relationships in the variables of models are derived and then it is used for extrapolation of data.A new approach is much economical in terms of cost and time and very helpful for power plant industries for preparing their predictive maintenance and Capex planning.
