Abstract : Glucometers are used to determine the sugar level in a diabetic person. At present, there are various glucometers available in the market are expensive, time consuming and invasively measure the sugar level present in the blood of the person. Some instruments which are based on different principles also determine the output from tear drops, urine and sweat. But the invasive methods are expensive and painful. Hence in this research paper a device has been developed which is cost effective and uses the sample of saliva to detect glucose level in body. Experimentation has been carried out by developing 2 types of sensor probes using fine copper wires as electrodes. Develop signal conditioning circuitry generates voltage output for glucose level present in sample saliva. Proper calibration has been carried out for good results. Results are compared with actual sugar level of the person and found which are close resemblance and encouraging. Keywords - Saliva, Glucose Level, Calibration, Copper Sensor Development, Non Invasive.
