A Mapping of Human Learning Principles to Machine Learning Strategies

Abstract
This paper presents an analysis of human learning principles that can be useful for machine learning. We compile representative tutoring and learning principles from education literature as they indicate how good student learners control their learning processes. We map them to existing meta-learning approaches where they share similar issues. We also identify areas that we can further improve based on the mappings.
